ILMEST was established in 1993 in Nova Gorica, Slovenia, when we took over the factory and woodworking department of Meblo Holding, the largest furniture manufacturer in what was then Yugoslavia. Located across the border yet very close to ILCAM Group’s headquarters, it marked the Group’s first step towards internationalization.
In its early years, the business focused on working with solid wood, then specializing in veneering slim panels from 2000, first just for the production of wooden doors, but later branching out into cabinet side panels and veneered doors. The company now supplies these products to all companies within the Group.
In 2010, ILMEST added a packaging department, which, since 2017, has also meant it can make boxes with a low turnover rate, using purpose-built machines that afford a high level of operating flexibility and fast processing.
With an impressive fleet of 8 tractor units and 20 trailers, the company has handled the internal logistics of the whole Group since 2014.
A policy of ongoing investment in place since ILMEST’s inception has expanded its facilities, automated squaring/edge-banding lines and introduced a cutting-edge pressing system, the only one of its kind in Europe.

With its selection of only the finest timbers and the meticulous execution of every stage of the work process, ILMEST produces veneered doors and panels of the highest aesthetic calibre that stand out for the authentically natural look of the surfaces.
ILMEST also manages packaging and logistic solutions for the other companies of the Group.
